Ah, the joys of dodging mini-van soccer mom's and teenage boys with music so loud their cars are breathing. anyways, I had a nice loop yesterday. The hard thing is finding straight-aways that aren't riddled with seams in the pavement or big guts that the village has cut out in order to patch it later on. There is gravel everywhere this summer. It's kind of hard just to find straight-up pavement. It's nice that people driving give me a ton of room but I wonder how detrimental that is to the other drivers. I'm just focusing on the road and trying not to get killed by someone running a stop sign. They are few and far-between where I live so unfortunately, that means that someone just might.
Everyone seemed to be out in pairs biking. While I was headed home, I looked over at a house and noticed an older man, wearing overalls and a hat, was singing and playing his guitar like he was on stage. I wanted to stop and "video" him because no one would believe me! I decided to be shy and went on my merry way.

Never a dull moment.
Close-up

The dog painting needs a bit more color change in the background. The original is in St. Paul and this is the second, actually. It's more of a revenge as I was not paid properly on the first go of this one. It need work on the collar, tags and edges but, other than that, it's being proclaimed as finished and being dropped off at the gallery. Although, I may need to do another dog painting so it won't look like I just found this and decided to sell it.
Progress!

Wow, it was a hot day. I biked for an hour, a bit too high-intensity as it was 84 (bleh). Bike the Drive is Sunday morning but Sat is my b-day and I doubt I'll get to sleep early enough to be up at 5am for that. At least I got some progress on the new painting but I fear I'm being too precious with it. It's lost it's grittiness which was my initial approach with one of the boxing paintings that's hanging now. I cleaned it up too much and I don't like it as much ( which is good because the ones I hate usually sell fast) - ( no idea why that is- it just is)

I'm still working on the horse anatomy) I'm not Remington but I'll make it work, goshdarnit.
I've got to do enough paintings to get another gallery to do possibly a solo exhibit. I feel I'm going to be a whiter shade of pale this summer as the studio beckons. Of course, we're planning some outdoors painting, so maybe that'll be my chance to look human and not like a porcelain doll.

HELP! - Beatles style
Yes, I'm in a desert of creativity, and YES, all the people have no idea what it is that I speak of when I rant about doing artwork. Yet, I'm still painting, sort of in a vacuum.....so, I'm uninfluenced by others. It's not like it was before when I worked with creative people. Now there's just me, once again. It's a good thing that I talk to myself.
