The art of emailing art

'Ello!
I decided in this post that I would drop my "H" in the greeting.
:) This is some more work in a PDF format so I can send this or something like it to pals in the art world AND to people that I don't know, etc.
I'm sure there are kinks to work out in the design, but you know what? For right now, it'll have to do. I've had a lot of trials going on right now. I do need to do some more drawings that area boucing around my head right now. These are a collection of random Concept art that I have in my portfolio. I need to do some more.
Apparently, there is a special protocol to emailing artwork. I don' t want to be guilty of spamming. I don't want to end up in a JUNK folder. I know that mailers are still the best way to go as this can get tricky. People will turn up their noses at unwanted emails. It's almost a strong offense. Well, I'll have to just take that risk, I suppose. I'd write more on that if I had the mentality for it, but right now, my mind is otherwise engaged.

My Heart Bleeds....

...especially right now..for soooo many different reasons.
(Random image of something I painted for someone a long time ago (or at least it feels like a long time ago) )
Well, one reason I can share is that my heart bleeds because someone hacked my website. I, in turn, have had to put aside the morning so I could try and remedy this. It was explained to me what I needed to do by my hosting IT support people. I've had a hard time even understanding what it is that they're talking about without having some tiny little minded person attacking my website. The IT people are getting a workout today. The last chat session that I had was abruptly interrupted by some stupidity of some sort. I couldn't type in the window and it appeared to the IT guy that I rudely closed the chat. Technology is so frustrating but I'm trying to learn whatever I can so that ignorance is no longer an issue. Apparently there is an issue with my FTP site that has nothing to do with the hacking of the site. I need a nap.

The Elderly and Plastic Surgery

I posted this before but it strangely disappeared. I half expect this to vanish upon posting as well. It's a good thing that that "half expectation" resides on the pessimistic half because the other "optimistic" half really is convinced that this will remain, as impossible as that may seem. I wanted to post this again to test the theory that Gremlins are hacking me and removing my posts. Two have vanished. (2) TWO WHOLE posts. Vanished, like a vapor. Maybe this is considered highly offensive (which is the only reason I drew it in the first place) and the folks at Blogger removed it before your precious eyes could be burned by looking at this. We'll see how this test turns out. Just wait until I get this colored, then we'll see how offensive it truly is. If you can just picture the potential of this....you would know why I posted this. Can't you just picture the crispy skin? I can hardly wait to share it with you AGAIN!!!

Now can we all ponder at why the elderly woman in the middle neglected to look in a mirror before leaving her house. Perhaps the money that she could have used to BUY a mirror went to pay for the awful saline bags she had installed in her chest cavity. Perhaps she is legally blind and people reassure her that she still looks like she can still pass for "not a day over ninety"..Maybe someone doesn't want to break it to this fragile one hundred and seventy year old woman that being a walking cadaver with a boob job doesn't allow you to walk around with a modicum of covering. Can we survive without viewing every sinew and crevasse of this leathery being? I think we can.

Superchick's CD! BUY IT!!

This may be old news, but, I'm posting about this again. Okay, so last year, I drew this for the band Superchick. I never got around to getting the CD as I hardly ever buy CDs anymore. In fact, I sell more on Amazon.com than I do buy as I have quite a great deal of CDs to begin with, why buy more? I decided to purchase some more, so in Decemeber, i went ahead and ordered the Superchick CD to support Max and his Herculean effort at art directing, mixing, marketing, and being in the band-ness. Is that proper grammar? I was curious to see where my artwork sat in the CD insert and was very glad to see it front and center upon opening.
I shot it on my CB2 glass table so I could share it.
I'm glad for my friend, Max as I heard they received a Grammy nomination! I don't have a TV so I wasn't able to catch that show and don't know the results. Someday, when I'm like the cool kids who have the BIG tvs and the cable and the Beanie Babies and the PS3s, I'll know what's happening in my own country. Until then, I'll keep on churning butter with my fellow non-confomists and maybe during Rumspringa, I'll buy another CD.

Balloons containing managers

Okay, so I ran into some older work that I did for Grant Thornton. This "editorial" was supposed to be portraying how one Manager could lead a group of other managers to higher heights, etc. The symbolism is obvious so there is no need to go into explaining that.

This picture, version, whatever you want to call it was weeks in the making. I created so many different hot air balloons (so to speak - as this is supposed to be an office building hot air balloon, which to my knowledge, do not exist just yet) Drawing the building to bow out like that while trying to keep it in perspective was a challenge. I did about five versions of that. The people had to be redone several times. The basket was redone. All of these were seperately shaped and redone. Unfortunately, thanks to the digital age you can accomplish this, but....it takes away so much when "frankenstien-ing" the illustration back together. I use that phrase a lot.
I'm loving the clouds I did. I can't tell you how many total versions we went through. The thing is, I'm really not sure that I even know which version of this was chosen for the final. I drew one aspect of the bird's eye view of the city below. The Production Artist, designer, etc. had cloned the buildings and placed them in a repeated pattern across the bottom. He had done several versions of how to place the one set of buildings I drew for this, not to mention the five other types of buildings. I think the "client" went with a simple, poorly drawn version of the city which was a little disappointing. Dont' get me wrong, I can say "poorly drawn" as I did a quickly harshly drawn version of the skyline with just the outlines, with exaggerated perspective in a wiggly pencil rendering. We also worked on a watercolor version of a simplified cityscape. Once we put that with all of this, it just starts to look strange.
