Stack of money

I can't recall what this was for. I know it was for an icon Grant Thornton needed but....well, I'm sure there are a myriad of uses for an Accountancy business to use a stack of money. I rather like this pile. It's nicely arranged! The fact that it's a stack of 100 dollar bills isn't really coming into play when I'm speaking of liking it. This scan is from a color copy of the illustration itself that I hardly had time to get. I try to be as quick as possible with getting copies of what I draw; If I like it, that is.

Rowboat

NO idea if I've posted this already. Another two hour drawing. It's a rowboat. Hopefully soon, I'll have a nice illustration that I've had more time to spend on. It'll be color, too.

Boxing icons

As I had meant to earlier, these are more of the boxing icons I was doing for Grant Thornton. as I said before, I did about nine or ten illustrations in one day. The lace up shoes taking the longest out of the lot. When it comes to the style, they prefer the "traced" look as opposed to the really anal retentive accurate look. When it came to doing the measuring tape, I had to just blast right on through it. Of course, as you can see, I give a few different versions of one item just in case they have a need for something simpler. These are scans from color copies of the drawings so the quality is less than desired.

Map of "city" in one day

If my memory serves me correctly, I believe I needed to do this city map in one day. The general purpose was to illustrate several different concepts as places, like....The InternShip, the Tax Tower and other like minded puns. I had to incorporate a river, bridges and roads going through the entire illustration but, keeping in mind, the buildings would all have to be separate icons. I had to draw everything in layers once I plotted out the imaginary town, not to mention, scramble for reference to see what the buildings would even look like. I chose a generic perspective and a generic style as i didn't have too much time to think of much else. I believe I even drew more than this that day in only nine short hours.

boxing shoes

These were part of an assigment for various boxing items needed as icons for Grant Thornton. This was the first thing I worked on but not the last, I drew about 7 other illustrations that day.

Character Usage

This was one of my earlier character layouts for a Birthday Card for Veggietales. I had so much fun with the limbless veggies and haf to cheat a lot of scenes to fake it so that they look as if they are holding items, etc. I had great fun giving Larry the Cucumber hindquarters so that he knocks over the table and gets the cake to tip. Poor little Pea, he's going to get smothered. Even though Big Idea had no styleguide, I had already studied them to get to into scenes that were character specific. Jerry and Jimmy are chowing down on a big cake, Bob is more mature and would be steadily working until Larry comes along in his childlike way with a plate of cookies. Junior and the little pea, of course, doing what "kids" would be doing to help out and decorate a cake! Of course, I threw Mr, Lunt in for reaction. I don't have the final file. I only had an older print out to scan.

Little Girl in Field of Flowers

This is completed as of a few hours ago. As you can see, there is a similarity of color scheme with the previous painting. While I was "on break" with this one, waiting for things to dry, etc. I would work on the smaller painting which is 12 in. sq. This painting is 18 by 36. I really love the panoramic canvases and would like to get more of these. This was commission by a woman I'm in choir with. She wanted something to celebrate her new house purchase with. It was strange that someone else was telling me how hard she was trying to talk her out of hiring me. It's really odd that people can be so insensitive. It's probably a good thing that I can't remember who that was. The buyer was really really happy with the painting and I'm glad.
